At last, after just over two weeks, the iOS 11 Beta 2 download has been made available. So if you’re registered for the Apple Development Program, you can get it now. It’s available for compatible iPhones, iPads, and iPods, and it’s the update the testing community has grown tired of waiting for. However, as predicted by many, Apple delivered, and now developers can start testing.

iOS 11 Beta 2 download: what’s new?

So with the next development generation of iOS now underway, we will start to see new features and bug fixes. In fact, you can bet that thousands of developers will be talking about what’s new on their blogs/social media. As for the changes, it’s certain that Apple has stuck to its roadmap, a vision for iOS based on feedback from beta testers and conversations the Cupertino-based outfit constantly has with developers to help it fix issues.

According to Apple‘s release notes, the iOS 11 Beta 2 download features a lot of fixes for third-party apps. Additionally, the Bluetooth icon in the Control Center works as it should. There are also “DO Not Disturb While Driving” options, which have obvious life-saving implications.

Other features to get a fix are 3D Touch and data detectors, as in contacts, phone numbers, and other data. They are all now working as they should be. Additionally, compatible handsets will no longer crash when a voicemail is deleted, and there are now restrictions placed on the size of an app that can be downloaded over a cellular connection. The new size limit is 100MB, anything over that will require mobile data or a Wi-Fi connection.

As for other relatively minor bugs/irritants that have been fixed, there’s the iPhone 7 restart popping sound. That’s now gone, as is the SOS notification that’s sent even if the option to do so is turned off.

If you’re interested in getting the iOS 11 Beta 2 download, we’re going to explain to you how to do just that. However, before you jump ahead to the tutorial, there are a few requirements you should know about.

Requirements

If for whatever reason you skipped the initial iOS 11 Beta release and are a registered member of the Apple Developer program, that is your first requirement out of the way. Without it, you would’ve had to have used a hack.

The devices that are compatible with it are the iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 6, 6 Plus, SE, 5s, iPad mini 2 and more, and sixth-generation iPod touch. If the device you own is not on this list, then we’re afraid you are out of luck. This iOS 11 Beta 2 download is not compatible with your iPhone, iPad or iPod.

If you’re fortunate enough to have a compatible device, it’s now time to move on to the tutorial below. Our advice to you is that you do not install this onto a handset, tablet or other device that you can’t afford to lose. After all, this is a beta, and things have been known to go wrong with betas.

How to install the iOS 11 Beta 2 download

As with all tutorials, it’s best that you read and then act upon each step individually. This approach has been proven to be the safest method, especially if you want to get it done quickly.

1. If you’re not on the Developer program but have a compatible device, you can register here. However, if you are already registered, please move on to the next step.

2. Using the link above,

Login to Your Account. To do so, you will need to look for the

Account section.

3. When logged in, you will be required to register what’s called a

UDID. This will inform Apple what device you want to install the iOS 11 Beta 2 download on.

To do that, have a

Windows PC or Mac and the latest version of

iTunes ready. Next, connect your iOS device via USB, and select it. Then click on the

Serial Number to reveal the

UDID Number.

4. Next, copy the

UDID Number, and from the

Account Section, select

Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles. Then select

All, which you will see beneath the devices section.

5. In the following window on the right-hand side, choose the

6. Finally, once the UDID has been entered, go to

Develop >> Downloads. There, you will find the following. While there, you need to choose your device from the drop-down list. Doing so will enable you to get the iOS 11 Beta 2 download and make your device iTunes-restorable.

And that’s it; you can now enjoy the delights that the second iOS 11 beta has to offer.
