But the major difference between OnePlus 5T's face unlock and iPhone X's Face ID is that the former can be ported to other devices, such as the OnePlus 5, through a software update. And the even better news is that it's now available for installation via the latest Open Beta update.

So, if you've been waiting to use face unlock on your OnePlus 5 smartphone, the wait is now over. To install the OxygenOS Open Beta 3 update on your OnePlus 5 smartphone running OxygenOS, simply go to the release page and download the image. Then, follow the instructions shown on that page to install it on your device.
"Instructions assume you are already on OxygenOS and using the original OnePlus 5 Oxygen Recovery. We have not tested the instructions on all other alternative ROMs, but we have provided basic steps for flashing with TWRP. Please contact our customer support if you have any doubts," says OnePlus.
But, before jumping to the installation part, please ensure you have a recent backup of the files stored on your OnePlus 5 device, as, you know, things might go wrong. Also, keep in mind that OnePlus does not guarantee a successful installation of OxygenOS Open Beta 3 on rooted devices.
