If you recently heard that Google Android 2.2 FroYo had leaked for the Motorola Droid X we have some important news for you, IntoMobile claim that this leak was in fact a hoax.

IntoMobile seem confident that the FroYo 2.2 ROM for the Droid X is in fact legitimate, therefore do not download it as it could potentially cause problems with your shiny new smartphone.

From what we can see the ROM floating about is FroYo 2.2 for the original Motorola Droid, this was clear when the update instructions mentioned a keyboard key, the Droid X has no physical keyboard.

Our advice is to just wait patiently for the official release of FroYo for the Motorola Droid X, if you install a leaked version you are asking for trouble. If you don’t want to take my advice check out this link.
